The Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, has just signed a five year deal with BSI Speedway to bring the GP to Australia. And the first one will be the curtain closer to the 2015 season on October the 24th.
It was twelve years ago that a GP was last held in Australia (Sydney 2002), with our very own Greg Hancock winning.
This is great news for the founding country of the sport, with Australia still churning out some great Speedway riders, and Chris Holder and Jason Doyle getting to ride a GP in their own country. Also, legends Jason Crump (3x World Champion) and Leigh Adams (10x Australian Champion) will be ambassadors to Australian GP.
More information, including ticket availability can be found on the SGP site.
